“Who’s available right now with Java-skills?”
Just ask in Teams. Get the answer in seconds, with direct links to the relevant information in Cinode. Then ask the agent to add a note to the client, schedule a follow-up for Tuesday, and keep an eye on the role that expires in three weeks. All without opening a single browser tab.
Cinode Chat gives every user at your company their own agent in Slack or Microsoft Teams. You talk to it in plain language. It responds using live data from your Cinode account – but only the data you are personally authorized to access. It can take actions on your behalf, monitor the things you have asked it to track, and message you privately when something requires your attention.
Your colleague in the same channel has their own agent, with their own view of the data. That is the key difference compared with a traditional chat integration – and we will come back to why it matters.
There is no new interface to learn. If you know how to send a message, you already know how to use it.
A Cinode agent is an AI assistant in Slack or Microsoft Teams that is tied to you as an individual. It identifies you through your verified Slack or Teams account, operates within your exact Cinode permissions, retrieves answers from your Cinode account in real time, and can take actions on records you are responsible for.
Three things make it your agent rather than a company-wide bot:
The agent runs on the same Cinode platform in both Slack and Microsoft Teams, providing a consistent experience regardless of which tool your company uses. Additional chat platforms can be added to the same agent over time.
Almost every platform in our industry lists Slack and Microsoft Teams among its integrations. In practice, this often means a notification feed: the system posts messages into a channel, but you cannot ask it anything in return.
The one-way flow is not even the biggest limitation.
The bigger issue is that everyone in the channel sees the same message. That means the feed can only contain information that the least privileged person in the channel is allowed to access. A resource manager may need visibility into the availability of the entire team. An individual consultant does not need access to every colleague’s assignments and clients.
That leaves two options, and neither is particularly good. Either you keep the information so generic that it is not useful to anyone, or you restrict the channel to a handful of managers – leaving everyone else dependent on asking a manager for the information they need.
One agent per person removes that trade-off.
The same channel can include a salesperson, a resource manager, and three consultants. Everyone can ask questions freely and receive answers based on their own permissions. No one sees anything they are not already authorized to access in Cinode.
Resource Manager
“Who in my team is available from next month?”
→ Monitors availability, roles that are coming to an end, and certifications across your team.
Sales and Key Account Managers
“Which roles are we currently staffing for Acme?”
→ Answers questions about clients, contacts, and active roles – and lets you document updates directly in the same conversation.
Consultant
“What’s missing from my profile?”
→ Suggests what should be added and reaches out when your profile starts falling behind.
Partner Manager
“Notify me as soon as a new role is created.”
→ Monitors new roles that can be matched with partners and subcontractors.
Management
“Give me a weekly summary of roles ending within the next 30 days.”
→ Summarizes what has changed and posts it in the channel you choose.
Five people. Five agents. One platform. And none of them had to configure anything in a system interface.
The agent remembers the context of your conversation.
Ask, “Who’s available in October?” and follow up with, “Which of them have worked with Azure?” without starting over or mentioning the agent again.
A search field starts from scratch every time. Your agent does not.
The agent can answer questions about people, skills, availability, roles, teams, projects, clients, contacts, certifications, and profiles. It retrieves the information in real time and responds with a clear summary and direct links into Cinode, so you’re always just one click away from the relevant record.
At its core, this comes down to the three questions that drive profitability in a consulting firm:
Who knows what? Who is available? What can we sell?
The difference is that you can now ask those questions at the exact moment they arise:
None of these questions are impossible to answer today.
But finding the answer usually requires someone to log in, search, filter, and sometimes export data. That friction means the question often never gets asked in the middle of a client conversation.
And that is how available capacity quietly turns into unutilized capacity.
In addition to finding information, the agent can create and update tasks, notes, and meetings on your own record and for the clients you are responsible for.
Say, “Add a note to Acme” or “Schedule a follow-up meeting next Tuesday at 3 PM,” and the agent will do it – and always confirm what it has done.
This is the underestimated half of the equation.
CRM data in consulting firms is rarely inconsistent because people do not care. It is inconsistent because someone is expected to document a meeting five minutes later, in another window. If they remember to do it at all.
Move that documentation into the same conversation where the meeting is already being discussed, and a large part of that information loss disappears.
Instead of digging through settings, simply tell your agent:
“Send me a weekly summary of roles ending within the next 30 days.”
The agent creates a recurring subscription and posts it in your conversation.
You can list, pause, resume, or remove your monitors whenever you want – simply by asking.
Some of the things your agent can monitor for you include:
You can also create one-off reminders in plain language, such as:
“Remind me about this thread in six weeks.”
The agent will come back to you when the time comes.
Your agent is proactive, not just reactive:
That last point is worth emphasizing.
Profile quality is not an administrative issue. Your consultant profiles are part of what you put in front of clients.
A profile missing the three most recent assignments can cost you opportunities. And consultants rarely update their profiles because a reminder is sitting inside a system they are not currently using.
Now the reminder appears in the chat tool they already have open all day – together with suggestions for what to add.
This is the obvious and entirely valid concern when giving an AI agent access to staffing and client data, and it deserves a clear answer.
Security is enforced in every response, not added as a layer around the outside:
Sharing a channel does not expand anyone’s access.
That is precisely why one agent per person can operate in an open channel in a way that a shared notification feed cannot.
There are two ways to connect an AI agent to your Cinode data. Neither requires a developer.
The difference is where you interact with it – your team chat or your own AI client – and whether the agent proactively reaches out or waits for you to ask.
| Cinode Chat | Cinode MCP Server | |
| Where you use it | Slack and Microsoft Teams. | Your own AI client – Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or Gemini. |
| Activation | An admin activates it once for the whole workspace. | Included up to your API limit; each user connects their own client. |
| Proactive | Included – notifications, monitoring, and real-time alerts. | Can be scheduled or built in your own AI client. |
| Key strength | Answers and actions directly in the conversations where your team already works. | Flexible analysis – combine Cinode data with other sources and information. |
| Separate LLM license | Not required. | Yes – you use your existing ChatGPT, Claude, or other AI subscription. |
| Best suited for | Everyday questions and workflows across the company, from day one. | More complex questions, users already working in, an AI client, and custom automations. |
In short, Cinode Chat is the agent that comes to your entire team and proactively reaches out when something matters.
The Cinode MCP Server is the connection that gives the AI client you already use access to your Cinode data. It lets Claude, ChatGPT, or another AI client reason more freely across that data – and you can build on top of it as far as you want, just as Logikfabriken has done with its own Slack bot.

Setup takes place in Cinode’s configuration guide, which walks your administrator through the process step by step. No manual is required. You simply connect the requested accounts when prompted.
Once that one-time setup is complete, everyone in the workspace has their own agent.
Full setup details are available in our support article about Chat Assistant.
Cinode contains the data that drives a consulting business: who is available, which roles are about to end, which certifications expire next month, and which client relationships have gone quiet.
The problem has never been the data.
The problem is accessing it at the exact moment you need it.
In short, Cinode goes from being a system you visit to an agent working alongside everyone in your company.
An AI assistant in Slack or Microsoft Teams tied to you as an individual. It identifies you through your verified chat account, operates within your Cinode permissions, responds using live data, and can take actions on the records you are responsible for.
Yes. Everyone in the workspace can talk to the agent and receives answers based on their own permissions, teams, and clients. Monitoring, reminders, and notifications are configured individually.
Yes. Talk to it in any channel by mentioning it, or privately via DM. Each conversation is handled separately, and you choose where scheduled monitors and updates are delivered.
No. Both platforms run on the same agent, so the experience is consistent.
Each user can only access the data allowed by their own Cinode permissions. Sharing a channel does not expand anyone’s access.
Neither requires development.
Cinode Chat lives inside Slack and Teams, is activated once by an administrator, and is then available across the workspace. It can proactively send notifications, monitoring updates, and alerts without waiting for you to ask.
The MCP Server instead connects your Cinode data to the AI client you already use, such as Claude or ChatGPT, and is included up to your API limit. It responds when you ask, but gives you more freedom to reason across Cinode data and combine it with other sources.
Many consulting firms use both.
Yes, within your permissions. It can create and update tasks, notes, and meetings on your own record and for the clients you are responsible for, and it always confirms what it has done.
No. There is no new interface beyond sending a message. Anyone who can use Slack or Teams can use their agent.
The easiest way to understand what having your own agent can do for everyday staffing is to see it answer your own questions.
