About the Assignment

You will lead a structured pre-study to define the optimal logistics setup, followed by potential responsibility for the selection, contracting and implementation of a suitable 3PL partner.

You will work closely with the Swedish team and relevant U.S. stakeholders, taking a practical and hands-on approach from requirements definition through operational launch, if appointed for implementation.

The assignment also includes coordination of integration with the client's existing ERP environment.

Define operational reporting and KPI requirements, including inventory accuracy, fulfillment performance, shipment visibility and returns tracking.

Review inbound transportation and import requirements for shipments from Europe.

Define requirements for integration between the client's ERP environment and a future 3PL partner's Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Identify and evaluate suitable 3PL providers in the U.S. market.

Develop a tender strategy, evaluation framework and shortlist of recommended providers.

High-level ERP/WMS integration requirements and architecture.

Implementation roadmap, project governance model and risk assessment, including critical milestones for the May/June 2027 shipment target.

Budget estimate and business case supporting a go/no-go decision for implementation.

Phase 2 – Potential Implementation

Based on the outcome of the pre-study and subject to a separate appointment, the assignment may continue into the implementation phase.

The implementation scope may include:

Competitive tender and final 3PL selection.

Commercial negotiations and contracting.

Detailed operational process design.

Coordination of ERP/WMS integration design, technical implementation and testing.

Definition of inventory control, traceability and reporting processes.

Import and transportation setup.

Warehouse onboarding and readiness activities.

Test shipments, pilot operations and launch.

Hypercare support, handover and performance review.

At this stage, consultants are requested to provide an indicative implementation approach, timeline and effort estimate only, aligned with first outbound shipments in May/June 2027.

The final implementation scope will be defined following completion of the pre-study.

ERP & Systems Integration

The client currently operates an established ERP platform that will remain the system of record for products, inventory and order management.

As part of the pre-study and potential subsequent implementation, you will be expected to:

Define integration requirements between the ERP platform and the selected 3PL partner's WMS.

Coordinate with the client's IT team, ERP provider and 3PL partner.

Define responsibilities, support arrangements and governance for system interfaces.

Address item master data, serial-number management, inbound receipts, outbound orders, shipment confirmations, inventory visibility, inventory reconciliation and returns processing.

Coordinate technical implementation by the responsible parties, including testing and validation of end-to-end processes before go-live.
