Data Specialist / Technical Consultant – ML & Data
Aliant is looking for a technically strong and customer-oriented Data Specialist / Technical Consultant for an assignment with an innovative technology company in Gothenburg.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, data/ML and customer collaboration. You will work closely with customers on complex technical solutions and act as an important bridge between customer needs and internal engineering and delivery teams.
A strong technical understanding is essential, but equally important is your ability to communicate, advise customers and translate complex requirements into clear and actionable technical solutions.
About the Assignment
As a Data Specialist, you will work in customer-facing teams and take technical ownership of data-related challenges, quality and workflows. The projects involve advanced data environments and may include Machine Learning, perception, AD/ADAS and automotive applications.
Your responsibilities will include:
Understanding and analysing complex customer requirements and translating them into clear technical specifications and solutions
Acting as a technical advisor in customer discussions
Working with data, data quality, datasets and ML-related challenges
Acting as the technical bridge between customers, engineering and delivery teams
Supporting technical onboarding and setup of new customer projects
Designing and improving data workflows and quality assurance processes
Helping customers find the right balance between quality, efficiency and scalability
Collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Who We Are Looking For
We believe you have:
A strong technical background within Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field
Experience working with data and an understanding of how data quality and dataset design impact ML models
Experience from a customer-facing technical role, where you have analysed complex requirements and helped drive technical solutions
Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with customers as well as technical specialists
The ability to understand complex technical challenges and turn them into clear and practical solutions
A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent experience
Excellent written and spoken English
Meritorious Experience
It is considered an advantage if you have experience within:
AD/ADAS or automotive
Perception systems and sensor data
Data annotation, dataset design or data quality for ML
Python and/or SQL
AI tools for automating or optimizing workflows
Manufacturing
Chinese language skills

Location: Gothenburg
Scope: Full-time
Work setup: Hybrid, 1–2 days per week at the office
As customers operate across different markets and time zones, some flexibility regarding working hours and customer meetings is required.
