Senior C++ Engineer – Linux Data Acquisition & Video Processing

We are looking for a senior software engineer to support and improve a data acquisition solution in a technically advanced embedded systems environment.

The assignment focuses on low-level Linux development, efficient data handling and hardware-accelerated video processing. You will work close to the operating system and underlying hardware, developing and improving software components responsible for collecting and transferring data reliably and efficiently.

This role is particularly suited to an experienced C++ developer with strong Linux fundamentals and an interest in performance-critical systems. Experience with Go is also valuable.

The role

You will contribute to the development, maintenance and optimization of software used to collect and manage data from connected hardware devices.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Developing and improving low-level Linux applications and services in C++.

• Working with Linux networking APIs, particularly AF_PACKET.

• Implementing efficient asynchronous I/O using technologies such as io_uring.

• Working with filesystem event monitoring and device management through inotify and udev.

• Developing or integrating hardware-accelerated video compression solutions.

• Working with NVIDIA video encoding technologies, such as NVENC, or relevant DriveWorks components.

• Troubleshooting performance, reliability and data acquisition issues close to the operating system and hardware.

• Collaborating with engineers across software, embedded systems and hardware integration.

We are looking for someone who has

• Strong professional experience in C++ development.

• Solid experience with Linux internals and low-level system APIs.

• Practical experience with Linux networking, ideally including AF_PACKET.

• Experience with asynchronous I/O, such as io_uring, or comparable technologies.

• Familiarity with filesystem event handling and device management, including inotify and udev.

• Experience with hardware-accelerated video encoding or compression, preferably using NVIDIA NVENC or DriveWorks.

• Experience with Go is an advantage, ideally alongside C++.

The ideal candidate

You are a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems close to the operating system and hardware. You are comfortable investigating performance bottlenecks, understanding how data moves through a system and improving existing software in a pragmatic and structured way.

Experience from embedded systems, robotics, automotive technology, telecommunications or other performance-sensitive technical environments is relevant.

You do not need to have worked with every technology listed, but strong C++ and Linux experience is essential. Practical experience with low-level networking and hardware-accelerated video processing will be particularly valuable.
