Senior Data Engineer – Snowflake / dbt


For our client, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in Snowflake and dbt. The ideal candidate has a strong background in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines in production environments.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and dbt
  • Create and manage Snowflake objects such as tables, views, schemas, stages, and procedures
  • Optimize Snowflake performance and cost based on its virtual warehouse architecture
  • Implement clustering and performance-tuning strategies
  • Work with Snowflake features such as Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and Time Travel
  • Manage external stages, storage integrations, data security, access controls, and role-based permissions
  • Develop, test, and deploy data transformation models according to dbt best practices
  • Implement Git workflows and automate dbt deployments
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance issues, errors, and pipeline failures
  • Collaborate closely with data analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver reliable data solutions


Required Experience

  • Extensive hands-on experience designing and building data pipelines in Snowflake
  • Extensive experience operating and maintaining Snowflake pipelines in production
  • Extensive experience with dbt
  • Good understanding of Azure
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD
  • Good experience with Git and GitHub Actions


Meritorious

  • Architectural experience
  • Experience with Informatica IDMC
