Senior C++ / Linux Engineer – Autonomous Driving & Sensor Systems

We are looking for a senior software engineer to join an advanced technology team working with autonomous driving and vehicle systems.

The assignment focuses on low-level software development, sensor data processing and communication with vehicle hardware. You will work close to both software and hardware, contributing to systems that handle large volumes of data from cameras, LiDAR, radar and other vehicle sensors.

The role is particularly suited to an experienced C++ developer who enjoys working close to the operating system and hardware and is comfortable in a technically complex environment.

The role

You will work with software components that collect, process and transfer sensor data within an autonomous vehicle platform. Your work may include:

  • Developing low-level Linux applications and services in C++.
  • Working with Linux-specific networking and filesystem APIs.
  • Handling large volumes of sensor data from cameras, LiDAR, radar and other sensors.
  • Working with data streams from GMSL cameras.
  • Implementing or integrating hardware-accelerated video compression.
  • Working with NVIDIA NVENC and/or DriveWorks APIs.
  • Developing applications for NVIDIA Drive OS.
  • Contributing to cloud-connected workflows and infrastructure.
  • Collaborating closely with engineers working across software, hardware and autonomous driving systems.

We are looking for you who have

  • Strong C++ development experience.
  • Solid experience with Linux, preferably including low-level networking and filesystem APIs.
  • Experience working with high-volume sensor data, such as camera, LiDAR or radar data.
  • Experience with GMSL cameras is highly relevant.
  • Experience with hardware-accelerated video processing, preferably NVIDIA NVENC and/or DriveWorks.
  • Experience with NVIDIA Drive OS application development is a strong advantage.
  • Some experience with Google Cloud or another major cloud platform.
  • Experience with Golang is a plus.

You don't necessarily need to meet every requirement. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong C++ and Linux fundamentals combined with experience from embedded systems, sensor platforms, automotive technology, robotics or other technically demanding environments.

The ideal candidate

You are a senior software engineer who is comfortable working close to both software and hardware. You enjoy understanding how systems work at a lower level and are able to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems independently.

Experience from autonomous driving or automotive systems is valuable, but relevant experience from adjacent areas such as robotics, embedded systems, telecommunications, industrial technology or other high-performance sensor environments may also be relevant.

The role involves close interaction with physical hardware, making a hands-on and pragmatic approach important.

Assignment details

  • Start: Early December 2026
  • Duration: Initially 8+ months, with possibility of extension
  • Scope: Full-time
  • Location: Gothenburg, due to dependencies on physical hardware. Hybrid arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.
