Senior IT Security Architect – Secure Software Delivery

For our client, we are looking for a Senior IT Security Architect to support the Software Delivery Automation area in strengthening security across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Background

The assignment has two parallel objectives:

• Support ongoing security and readiness initiatives driven by an evolving threat landscape, increased use of advanced AI, and the need for improved vulnerability response capabilities.
• Together with the team, assess the current software delivery security landscape and help establish a holistic strategy and roadmap for secure software delivery across the platform ecosystem.

The consultant will work closely with platform teams, architects, product management, security stakeholders and development teams.

Assignment Overview

Approximately 60% of the assignment is expected to focus on ongoing security initiatives, including:

• Evaluation and adoption of GitHub Advanced Security capabilities
• Leveraging AI-assisted security capabilities to improve vulnerability discovery and remediation
• Secure coding practices and developer enablement
• Dependency management and supply chain security
• Vulnerability management and remediation processes
• Security readiness for large-scale vulnerability events and accelerated patching scenarios

The remaining 40% of the assignment will focus on strategic assessment and future direction.

The consultant is expected to assess the current security tooling landscape, operating model and ways of working, and provide recommendations on how security capabilities should be organized and integrated throughout the SDLC.

Desired Profile

We are looking for a senior consultant who has experience beyond operating individual security tools.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience in:

• Driving security transformation initiatives
• Defining security strategies for engineering organizations
• Building secure software delivery capabilities
• Working across platform teams and development organizations
• Balancing security, developer experience, cost and delivery speed
• Translating security objectives into practical implementation roadmaps

The consultant should be able to operate both strategically and hands-on, helping drive immediate improvements while laying the foundation for a long-term Secure Software Delivery strategy.
