Project role: Solution Architect SAP – Supply Chain Planning E2E

Scope and range:

1 FTE needed during the period August 2026 – Fall 2027, with potential extension beyond that.

Background:

The client is in early stages of a global SAP rollout program, where supply chain and production planning processes constitute a significant part of the change scope. We are looking for an experienced architect to help navigate the architecture in these areas. The ideal candidate has ample experience from the solution architect role within Supply Chain Planning E2E (not a pure technical profile).

Role description and objectives:

The goal of the solution architect is to ensure that the solution developed within the project aligns with the client's target architecture and supply chain business goals and requirements — or to ensure informed deviations as necessary. A key responsibility is to convert process industry requirements into to-be architecture and solutions. The role involves documenting and communicating the solution architecture, including its relation to business requirements and the high-level target solution architecture (deviations inclusive). Since the program will execute over several years, the solution architect will play a central role in developing the solution roadmap and its different architecture states for supply chain planning over time. The responsibility also includes identifying the need for solution decisions and potential deviations from target, and creating decision basis as needed. This requires extensive communication with various stakeholders: supply chain process owners and business experts, architects, and system implementor staff.

Key responsibilities:

Ensure solution alignment with the client's supply chain planning business requirements and target architecture. Manage informed deviations supported by clear decision basis as needed.

Refine documentation of target solution architecture for supply chain planning to support the transition.

Refine documentation of current solution architecture for supply chain to support the transition.

Communicate the above with relevant stakeholders, including project managers, business stakeholders (managers, experts), and other architects in the program.

Work closely with the group of architects within supply chain, from the client side and from the system integrator.

Provide input to the program roadmap from a supply chain architecture perspective.

Help the business understand whether SAP standard solutions are applicable.

Skills and experience required:

Solution architect with a minimum of 5 years' experience.

Excellent analytical skills — able to identify the most important issues and questions from an architecture perspective within a large, complex transformation program.

Documented experience from supply chain, in particular Planning (strategic, tactical, operational).

Documented experience from at least one large ERP transformation.

Documented experience using SAP for supply chain, including IBP, PPDS, and PP/QM.

Ability to communicate and drive complex questions across various stakeholders (management, business experts, and IT staff).

Interest in and experience with documenting and illustrating architecture.

Location and mobility:

Primary location is the client's HQ in Solna. Some remote work is possible, but on-site presence 2–3 days per week is required, up to 4 days during peaks.

Travel to the HQ in Solna and to production sites will be necessary. Possible travel to North America if needed.
