Position description

As an Emission Compliance Maintenance Engineer, you will have large personal responsibility in planning of the work to ensure deliveries in time, therefore a structured way of working is required. Since interaction with both external and internal contacts is crucial for achieving results, good networking and communication skills are of high importance.


In this role you will have a broad responsibility covering areas including Product Change Requests, Emission Labels, Campaign Coordination and Authority Reporting. Due to the broad scope and required interaction with a network both within Volvo and being in direct contact with authorities world-wide extensive experience in relevant fields is required.

This consultant assignment is intended for long time and therefore the desire to both grow in the role and to develop the role over time is crucial.


Core responsibilities

• Responsible for emissions related campaign for an Emission Compliance perspective, i.e. initiate campaigns, give input on legal requirements, follow-up on progress, report to authorities etc

• Authority reporting, gather information for and put together reports required to maintain emission certificates.

• Review incoming request for unit specific product changes, approve or disapprove, print and send correct emission label. Requires extensive knowledge of both current and previous certificates as well as world-wide emission legislations within this area.

• Develop new emission labels (Systems: Word, NiceLabel, GLS).

• Create new part numbers for drawings and labels and ensure correct structure in KOLA.

• Have contact with the different production sites, secure that labels in production fulfil all requirements.

• Handle customer and aftermarket requests regarding labels.

• Secure guidance documents for correct import of engines to certain countries are correct (based on engine label).

• Be up to date with emission legislation requirements for maintenance phase of the products.



Desirable experience and qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or similar level of education.

• Knowledge of diesel engines and emissions.

• Good knowledge of emission legislations within the applicable areas of repsonsibility

• Experience of working with KOLA is beneficial.

• Social skills are important for the role as the work requires frequent interaction with many different contact areas within the Volvo Group.

• Experience of working directly with authorities.

• Ability and desire to drive tasks to a closure even when urgent daily tasks require attention.

• Fluent in Swedish and English is a minimum. Other language skills are welcome.

• Good communication skills.
