Growth in both revenue and headcount has fallen back to levels not seen in several years, while profitability continues to be under pressure. This is highlighted in Cinode\u2019s annual\u00a0<em><strong>Konsultkollen 2025<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0report, which analyzes data from more than 300 Swedish consulting firms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Average revenue growth has dropped to <strong>2.6 percent<\/strong>, a sharp decline from <strong>7.5 percent<\/strong> the previous year. Headcount growth is nearly flat at <strong>0.7 percent<\/strong>, and operating margins have decreased to <strong>4.4 percent<\/strong>. Many IT firms have had a particularly tough year, with several players exiting the market entirely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Following record-breaking years in 2021 and 2022, the Swedish consulting market has slowed significantly. We\u2019re seeing declines in revenue growth, staffing, and profitability \u2014 back to levels we haven\u2019t seen in a long time. The industry is becoming increasingly polarized \u2014 both in terms of skills and the sectors firms operate in. Several well-established players are struggling with growth and margins, while others have gone bankrupt or exited the market, says <strong>Mattias Loxi<\/strong>, Co-founder and CMO at Cinode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite a challenging market, several firms are demonstrating that strong growth is still achievable. This year\u2019s top performer is\u00a0<strong>Aixia<\/strong>, reporting an impressive\u00a0<strong>232 percent<\/strong>\u00a0increase in revenue.\u00a0<strong>Triive<\/strong>\u00a0ranks second with\u00a0<strong>192 percent<\/strong> revenue growth and also leads in headcount growth at\u00a0<strong>180 percent<\/strong>. Other high-growth companies include\u00a0<strong>Altio Sweden<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>byBrick<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Coody<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Redeploy<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>TechSeed<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 last year\u2019s top performer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most profitable firms in this year\u2019s report include&nbsp;<strong>Cleeven Sverige<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Devcore<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>McKinsey &amp; Company<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sector performance continues to diverge. Segments such as defense, energy, infrastructure, and cybersecurity remain resilient, while much of the IT and broader tech sector has faced a significantly more challenging year. M&amp;A activity is also well below historical levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u2013 The winners are those building attractive, learning-driven cultures, operating with efficiency, leveraging automation and AI, adapting their business models and pricing strategies, and targeting high-growth markets such as the energy transition, industrial transformation, and digitalization \u2014 with AI playing a central role.
