Unfortunately, in the case of gender equality, this has meant that women have been left to drive the majority of initiatives, resulting in a larger workload both in arranging and managing these projects and in being constantly required to shoulder the responsibility of acting as a role model.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Our Purple Pill initiative is\nintended to ensure that all men also make a commitment to gender equality and\nact as role models. It is vital that men engage with and participate in the\ndevelopment of our gender equality work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cinode.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/5-event-candy-1024x683-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14779\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The name Purple Pill is a\nreference to the famous Matrix metaphor for having the courage to see the truth\nand to take a stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201dInclusive Leadership\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cinode.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/3-lunch-large-group-1024x458-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14742\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>One concrete example of an\ninitiative nurtured by Purple Pill is our <strong>inclusive leadership<\/strong> lunches, when\nwe invite male colleagues to the office to discuss gender equality issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We challenge norms and\npreconceptions. We want to increase awareness and learn to identify situations\nthat may arise in the workplace and in life in general. We learn when and how we\ncan take action. We use tools such as storytelling, the bystander approach and\nopen discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the help of female\ncolleagues, we have gathered a number of real-life cases from our own workplace\nand those of our customers. Basing discussion on real-life events allows for a\nhighly relevant exchange of ideas, questions, experiences and perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cinode.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/6-event-discussion-1024x683-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14783\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Expertise in the field of gender\nequality, as well as an understanding of workplace dynamics, will be crucial to\nour future leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Growing network<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, the discussion\nof gender equality issues in a professional context with male colleagues is not\nsomething that otherwise takes place routinely. We have received incredible\nfeedback from participants in these meetings and we have succeeded in reaching\nbeyond the \u2018usual suspects\u2019, i.e. those men who will always show an interest\nand attend this type of event. Those who have already attended a lunch, invite\nnew colleagues, ensuring that the network continues to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim is for all male\nemployees at Netlight to have attended a lunch and we have already succeeded in\ndisseminating the concept to many of our offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cinode.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/4-student-event-1024x683-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14790\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Through these types of\nactivities, we encourage more men to become engaged in our gender equality\nwork.
